Hemu Jikepulin Ski Resort sits in the Altay region of northern Xinjiang, at the crossroads of China, Kazakhstan, and Russia. Located near the iconic Hemu Village in the Kanas Scenic Area, it offers remote alpine scenery and pristine snowfields.
How to get there?

Fly into China’s major hubs, then connect to Altay (AAT) or Kanas (KJI) Airport. From Altay, it takes about 5 hours by car. From Kanas, Hemu is about 1.5–2 hours by car. Our package includes airport pickup and direct private transfer, making your journey smooth, safe, and hassle-free even in winter conditions.

Hemu is best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers. The resort has natural slopes and backcountry terrain, with few beginner-specific runs. Beginners may consider alternative Chinese resorts like Changbaishan Wanda or Beidahu.

What is the snow like in Hemu?

Hemu is famous for dry, powdery snow thanks to its high altitude and northern location. The long snow season (November to April) ensures excellent skiing conditions.

How do I get to Hemu from Australia?

Fly to Beijing, Shanghai, or Urumqi, then connect to Altay Airport (AAT) or Kanas Airport (KJI). From there, it’s 1.5–5 hours by car to Hemu. Our packages include airport pickup and direct private transfers.

 

Can I rent ski equipment at Hemu?

Yes, basic ski and snowboard equipment is available, but we recommend bringing or reserving premium gear in advance for best performance in deep powder.
